This daily study collection began with a curiosity of oil pastels and florals (surprisingly enough) as my roots are in abstract art. After a few months of exploring my love for florals, my heart was tugging me back towards abstract, so I dedicated this month to developing my style and working on compositions and colour theory. I have to thank my floral studies because they created this series, they literally made me stop and admire flowers I had never noticed in my neighbourhood (sounds cheesy I know). Helping me realize there are so many beautiful things around us that we take for granted, and if we stopped to take note of these little things we may be a tad (or a lot) happier. You'll still find floral silhouettes and colour palettes inspired by moments outside of the studio in my artwork. These studies are my little reminder to the world to admire the mundane.
