Original painting with oil pastels on mixed media paper

This collection began as an exploration of a new medium at a smaller scale — a way to step back from expectations and focus on form alongside spontaneous palettes. It's an ongoing series about admiring the mundane, and stopping to appreciate the small moments in life that we might breeze by on most days. Inspired by moments out of the studio, "stopping to smell the roses" as one would say. Oil pastels, intimate sizes, and a curiosity about colour did the rest.
